Booking Policy & Standard of Service


Bringing professional hair care directly to your home is a hallmark of this service. It is a solution designed for busy parents, work-from-home professionals, those without easy access to transportation, or anyone in the neurodiverse community who feels most comfortable in their own environment. To ensure the highest quality results in a mobile setting, a few preparations are necessary:
  • Prepare Your Space: Please provide a clean, smoke-free, and well-lit area. A clear, organized space allows for maximum efficiency and comfort.
  • Neurodivergent Accommodations: I am committed to providing a safe and accessible experience for all. If you require specific accommodations such as a silent appointment, sensory-friendly adjustments (low lighting/no music), or frequent breaks, please let me know during your consultation. Your comfort is a priority.
  • Personal Essentials: Ensure you have water, snacks, or anything else you might need nearby to keep your session relaxed and enjoyable.
  • Kids and Pets: All are welcome! Please just ensure they are safely occupied so the session can proceed without distraction.

Travel Fees & Shared Logistics
As a mobile service providing professional care across Ontario, travel fees are calculated based on the distance from Barrie, Ontario.
  • Distance-Based Rates: Travel fees cover fuel, vehicle maintenance, and transit time.
  • Shared Travel Savings: When multiple clients in the same area book back-to-back appointments, the travel fee can be shared, reducing the cost for everyone and making mobile sessions more accessible.
  • Weather & Road Conditions: For safety, mobile appointments may be postponed in inclement weather. School bus cancellations serve as a reasonable indicator — if buses aren’t running, travel appointments will be rescheduled.

Scheduling & Booking Requirements
To ensure a smooth, intentional booking process for all clients, the following is required:
  • Existing Clients: Returning clients may book through the online calendar or are welcome to coordinate appointments directly via DM for added flexibility.
  • New Clients – Online Booking Only: All new clients must book their appointment through the online calendar. This allows for accurate scheduling, service selection, and availability management.
  • Client Discovery Form: After selecting your preferred date, new clients are required to complete the Client Discovery Form. This step ensures your service is aligned with your hair goals, condition, and expectations.
  • Approval Process: Bookings are not automatically confirmed. Your selected date and submitted form will be reviewed to ensure suitability before proceeding.
  • Deposit Requirement: Once your booking date and form have been approved, a $50 non-refundable, non-transferable deposit is required to secure your appointment. This amount is applied toward your final balance. Deposits are sent to [email protected]
  • Booking Confirmation: No appointment is finalized until your form has been reviewed and your deposit has been received.
  • Validity: Deposits remain valid until the end of the current calendar year.

​Hair Preparation
Your hair must be ready for service upon arrival to ensure the integrity of the style.
  • Clean & Product-Free: Hair must be freshly shampooed, thoroughly detangled, and completely blown out from root to tip.
  • No Oils: Do not apply heavy oils or greases, as they interfere with the grip and longevity of the work.
  • Dryness: Hair must be 100% dry unless a specific wet-set service has been discussed.

Health & Safety Protocol
Dreadlock Odyssey maintains high hygiene standards for the safety of all households.
  • Illness: If you or anyone in your household has experienced symptoms of a cold, flu within the two weeks prior to your appointment, you must reschedule.
  • Termination of Service: If I arrive and find a client or household member is visibly ill, the service will be terminated immediately to protect the health of subsequent clients, and the deposit will be forfeited.

Payment & Satisfaction
  • Remaining Balance: The balance is due immediately upon invoicing. While cash is accepted, EMT (Electronic Money Transfer) payments are preferred.
  • Final Inspection: Please inspect your hair thoroughly before the session concludes. Adjustments are made at the time of service; no refunds are issued once the appointment is complete.
  • Collections: Unpaid invoices at the end of the year will be referred to a collection agency to ensure the continued operation of these mobile services.
